This is not the real video. The real video has musical notes that are almost like dandelion seeds, and some die on the way. I found that video way more interesting, though Death Cab has made a more artistic video, just like the Raconteurs did with "Steady as She Goes." I'm going to tell iTunes, now, to get the real video, though I am without doubt that they shall not listen. Oh, well. Enjoy, kids.

For all of the people trying to explain the background on this video: Who cares? It is a bad video. So what if they gave some amateurs a chance? The product is what is important. How many times could you watch this? How many of your friends would you show this to? Don't buy this video, it isn't good - bottom line.
  • waste of money, should have been a ten cent music video

I just saw DCFC on Austin City Limits. Ben and the band was great. I excepted something better...
  • "The point of this video is not to be visually pleasing?"

Oh. I see. I guess thats why it's NOT. And is the point of your audio collection not to be pleasing to your ears? I thought i was buying the "good" video. should've read the reviews first. Lesson learned!
  • I like the song, but this Video was VERY dissapointing.

Ok, we all know that this is a good song, and i would by JUST THE SONG, but this is a very dissapointing music video. First: 1. We all know its different from the TV version...just look at the other reviews 2. The shaking camera and home video style just doesn't cut it for a MUSIC VIDEO 3. This is a good song, and it desserves a good video, not this When you watch the video, all you really see is some people, and some landscapes........and thats it, (not to mention the shaking camera that just gets worse and might be a little anoying to watch for a while). Also, the video does not say anything, theres just landscapes with a good song in the backround, which does not make the most attractive video to watch. SO MY THESIS IS that i would definatly recomend this song to buy (but if you dont like it, Death Cab has many other good hits to listen to!!) and this video is a waste of your money, patients, and time. BUT I WOULD RECOMEND 2 other songs that Death Cab has good music videos to; 1. I'll Follow You Into The Dark- has an inner meaning that if you hide from your fearse they will just get bigger and bigger until..... 2.Marching Bands of Manhattan Hope this helps you, so see you later on other reports!!!
  • this is different from what i saw on VH1...

i just viewed the sample and it's completely different than what i've seen on VH1. Yes, VH1, instead of MTV shows VIDEOS!!!!! My version of the video shows a more create side of the band, showing 'notes' growing and travelling through the air-not the 'home movie' video and it has the band members playing and singing. I can't tell you if the DVD is different, but if you can find a copy of VH1's video, it's way better!!!!! I watch my version of the video all the time - I already consider it one of my 'classics' videos and I used to watch MTV when it came out in the '80's. If you have tivo, watch VH1 and get some music videos that way. I only rated this version of this video with a single star, but don't get me wrong, I LOVE THIS SONG!!!
  • This is not your typical MTV video

I am by no means a DCFC extremist, however I do love many of the songs on Plans. I think what they have done for Directions (the DVD this music video is from) is awesome. Give small-time directors a chance to make videos for a band who has received fairly good commercial success. Although the videos themselves are not always as exciting and certainly not as flashy as what EVERYONE is accustomed to on their TV screens, there is an honesty about them that warrants a second view to really appreciate what these directors were wanting to achieve. I do like this video and recommend it.
