  • Reverent corporate worship songs

The follow up to Tomlin's masterpiece "Burning Lights," "Love Ran Red" starts off where the previous album left - soft, reverent corporate worship songs with a few poppier moments ("Waterfall" and "Fear Not" for example,) which makes for a refreshing listen and great songs for adoration services and quieter prayer moments. That said, the album isn't as musically diverse as "Burning Lights," so fans of the prior album may be left wanting more. Highlights on "Love Ran Red" include "Greater," "At the Cross," and the fun, finger-snapping "The Table."

Chris Tomlin is my favorite worship leader. A man who loves God!
  • Nothing memorable

I usually love his albums but this one was pretty boring. Not a single memorable song and they all sounded pretty similar and blended together. A bit disappointed in this one.
  • Some Great Songs, Some Forgettable Ones

    By Robb Sky
Love Ran Red is truly a mix of great, memorable songs and poor, forgettable songs. Songs like Greater, At the Cross, Jesus Loves Me, and Jesus This Is You are among the best songs Tomlin has ever recorded. On the other end of the spectrum are songs like Boundary Lines, Fear Not, and The Table, all of which seem to be on the album because without them the album would be more like an EP. I rated each song in iTunes and my rating of the album was calculated by iTunes to be an overall 3-star rating. In this case, that doesn’t mean the album is average from start to finish, but that it’s a mix of 5-star songs and 1-star songs throughout, with a couple 4-star and 2-star songs sprinkled in. If you like Chris Tomlin, you might as well buy the entire album because you’ll want to add it to your collection. If you’re not a big Chris Tomlin fan, then you might listen to the album and just download the best songs from it. You won’t miss the ones you skip.
