This new EP is flat out amazing! They bring out a new sound with the songs Slow Down My Heartbeat and Skin and Bones. Plus base player Tim Foreman takes the lead of the song What it Costs for an unexpected twist. The song Liberty paints a great picture that Jesus is our liberty and we need to surrender all to Him. Great job Guys!

Well, I guess I will have to pass. I am not a fan of the direction. Both of the new albums are sleepy. I’ll check back in a year or two and see if the rock is back.

I absolutely love this album. Switchfoot has been my favorite band for a very long time, and I'm just so impressed by them with every new album. I love how real they are in the lyrics, and how each song is just so relatable with their struggles with faith, love, and family. My absolute favorite song is "Skin and Bones." I could literally feel it in my skin and bones. The song literally gave me chills. The lyrics are great, sure, but the music itself was just so core-rattling to me. I absolutely loved the unconventional combination of heavy bass and heavy drums. Great job guys!

"Skin and Bones" & "Slow Down My Heartbeat" are the two best songs on this album hands down! I hope to hear more of this sound from Switchfoot in the future! Reminds me of Radiohead!
  • I Gave This Three Stars Based on the Previews, But...

Has anyone noticed that this EP seems very similar to Coldplay's Prospekt's March EP, because the two EPs contain songs left off of their albums with their best work on them (Coldplay's "Viva la Vida" and Switchfoot's "Ba55")? (I'm not saying both albums were equally consistent. I'm just saying I see similar situations here.)

I can find nothing negative to say about any of these songs. They truly complete the Fading West album are are a great addition to the Switchfoot's discography.

Among these songs are some of the most hopeful (Edge of the Earth is my personal favorite) and meaningful (Against the Voices) tunes in recent memory. Incredible job :)
  • So glad they released this!

Thanks to Switchfoot for releasing Against the Voices, a song many fans have been wanting for a long time since hearing Jon play it. Thanks also to Tim for What It Costs. This EP is amazing!
