Just letting u guys know the song Southern Cross from CSN was from the Daylight Again album released in 1982. Wouldn’t have been out in 1974 for these concerts
  • Better than 4 Way Street

Thank you, Crosby and others for this. The energy blows away 4 Way Street. This definitely adds in no other way to their body of work. Really glad I bought it.

Saw their 1974 show in Cleveland Ohio along with about 90,000 other fans. My first outdoor concert and will never forget. Opening acts were Jesse Colin Young, Santana, and The Band. Thanks for releasing this and the trip down memory lane.
  • Shockingly mediocre

Agree with SantaCruzing: the vocals on this set are generally bad, particularly Stills' singing. Don't bother with this.
  • Not wow but double wow

Omg, rivals 4 Way Street as the greatest live album that I've ever heard. I know, the haters say 4 Way Street is loaded with mistakes but I still say it has never been equalled for raw guitar work, until now. "Almost Cut My Hair", featuring some of Neil's finest guitar work, was worth the price of the entire deluxe album (just love that gritty video). I've bought a ton of music on iTunes in the last few years and would have to say this album (a collection of songs, doesn't have to be vinyl) is, far and away, the absolute best.
  • Greatest Live Album

This is heaven! Greatest live album ever, sound like you were 10 rows back burning with your best friends. Old man, almost cut my hair, ohio are insane! Thanks Stephen
  • Wow! I can't believe we're listening to the same album

I must admit, I have only listened to the Starbuck's version of this concert, which is a truncated version. But, it is incredible. The harmonies are dead on, and Stephen Stills guitar work is stellar. I have a neighbor who worked in Nashville and who has a theory that the quality of a Crosby, Stills & Nash performance was dictated by whether Crosby was straight or not, since he was to integral to their harmonies. We listened to the Starbucks CD together, and were both reaching for our guitars and singing along halfway through.
  • Mediocre…….at best

Out of tune and out of their minds. If you really want to hear CSNY at their zenith, Four Way Street is the way to go, or numerous bootlegs that are available. Not worth the time or money on this one. Kudos to Graham Nash in trying to piece this together, but it is mostly unlistenable.
  • This as close to live...

as I will every get to this band at the peak. Love it..warts and all. Proves the power and joy of non-autotuned, spontaneous live music!!!
  • No Southern Cross - really?!

That song was written in the '80s. This album is called "CSNY 1974" for gods sake! This is a great snapshot of a band at the height of their powers. I was at one of these shows. 40 years later, I still consider it one of the musical highlights of my life. Yes, the vocals are a bit rough, but listen to the guitar interplay. It is worth it just to hear "don't be denied"!
