WoW! Really great stuff here. I was blown away. This really showcases the incredible talent and versatility of Joe Bonamassa and every member in this group. Put Joe B, Jeff Beck, Brand X, and Al DiMeola in a blender and you get Rock Candy Funk Party! Love it, need more!

A great group of super-talented musicians. Unfortunately, the songs seem to just chug along without any real high points. Drummer Tal Bergman rarely steps out of his groove to play a fill longer than two beats and his playing does little to underscore the meandering solos. Overall an okay album but it feels somewhat unfinished.

This is the bonamassa I identify with; more subdued...in the pocket...soulful. This album plays out like an early 70s Jimmy McGriff album or mid 70s Herbie Hancock, maybe with a bit of Wired era Jeff Beck. The grooves are easy going and don't ask too much of you. You can just veg out and enjoy the ride-unlike his older, flashier albums. An album like this needs its own time of day to fully enjoy; 11am on a Saturday is what this record is all about. Chillin and groovin.
  • Get your funk out and play with it!!

If you are a fan of Joe Bonamassa and/or artists like Booker T (Green Onions), AWB and Herbie Hancock, you won't be disappointed. Well played throughout.
