Metallica fans are the worst. The band has never been able to do what they want to do without their putrid audience throwing a tantrum about it and then complaining even more when they get what they want. Just like so called Dream Theater fans too. I for one enjoy this album for what it is, and yeah it’s commercial but it’s also Metallica’s heaviest, arguably the last time they expanded heaviness in metal music (Pantera would take over a year later in that department). How anyone could dislike Sad But True is beyond me, and I think The Struggle Within is by far the most underrated song from the band. I’m not too big a fan of Holier Than Thou, but cmon Enter Sandman is an across the boards classic song in any genre man! Their thrash days were legendary, and they will never ever go back to when they had that drive and anger and passion. But this is truly the album that capped that era off, and although I do kinda see peoples point about the Loads I still like them (yeah you can complain about THAT era of the band, leave this one alone!). You wonder why this album outsold The Wall and Dark Side of the Moon in the United States? It wasn’t merely that it was just a commercial album, it’s something more. I do however understand people getting on about Nothing Else Matters (which for many is the only Metallica song they know unfortunately) I think it’s a lovely song though! Be grateful to God they didn’t go Britney Spears pop and get over it!

This is with out a doubt the greatest album to be ever recorded, played live and still holds up today. I don’t care about Maiden or anything that other bands of other genres have done. The black album is till on top and nothing will ever match it.
