I just discovered this band and let's just say I'm blown away by them. I like the older stuff they did (Surrounded By Theives, Blessed Black Wings), though I have not listened to those albums as much as of yet. This album is awesome! I tend to like the slightly more 'produced' sound (compared to the older albums I mentioned) of this album and I'm real excited to discover some great new metal!!! (at least for me) I would definitely recommend it to the average metal fan. You will not be disappointed. I got my $7.99 worth the first day I owned it!!!

Pike clearly found some inspirational material here and used it rather than getting distracted by it. I’d rate this as HoF’s second-finest long player after “Surrounded By Thieves”. Thrilling.

High on Fire can do any wrong in my eyes for the most part. Snakes for the Divine was a slight disappointment due to the way it was produced, but this album makes up for it. Madness of an Architect is the most stand-out track on this album in my opinion. Just the guitar tone in the intro of the song is enough to make me want to watch the earth burn. It has a stoner groove with crushing heaviness. Fertile Green is another stand-out track that shows their faster/thrashier side. As with any High on Fire album (or any stoner metal album for that matter), there's lots of repeating riffs, but the songs are written so well that it doesn't get boring.
Holy schnike!!!!

This is amazing!!! These guys display metal in it's rawest form. There's a lot of crafty song structure composition and lyric wise. I am very impressed with this release
