  • An essential cd for the lover of live performance.

A master storyteller relates tales from a storied career on stage and screen. This performance is at once hysterically funny and poignant... a must for anyone who loves theater, and the art of live performance. Elaine Stritch masterfully tells the story of her career, and holds nothing back, and in doing so connects with the greats... Brando, Merman, Burton, Noel Coward. You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll not regret purchasing this album.

Ms. Stritch bears her soul in this one woman musical comedy/drama/tragedy/comedy. This is one of those legendary performances that come once in a lifetime. If you can, go out and buy the DVD of this performance. It will be talked about for a VERY long time. Ms. Stritch, or Stritchy, is my hero.

Stritch's LIBERTY performance is a great review of her life, her Broadway experience and best songs ever sung. Her voice is just what is needed on any relaxing occasion. I just love this woman and hope everyone gives this recording the attention it deserves.

I saw this show, twice. And I don't like musicals. But rarely have I ever seen a presence like Ms. Stritch's. Every line, perfectly timed. Every nuance, honestly conveyed. I listened to the snippets on I-Tune, and I was transported again. Listen to a life well earned, and hang on to your jaw.
