One of my absolute favorite albums. Genuinely brilliant, the creative vision behind the music isn't just apparent, but bold, daring and refreshing. The ArchAndroid is a multifaceted ethereal story album with exquisite lyrical metaphors ranging from historical disparity to Greek mythology, from classics to modern SciFi and insightful parallels to social issues all told through daring experimental sounds involving SciFi and Fantasy aesthetics and atmospheric orchestral arrangements. It's remarkable just how much this album manages to accomplish - form establishing the Metropolis series storyline, following a SciFi sound theme, making beautiful written and sung music, catchy numbers, danceable beats and somber soulful ballads all while carrying an underlying message. My favorite song is undoubtedly "Oh, Maker" followed by "57821" but the album is flawless from start to finish, really. The only concern I have is that Janelle Monae hasn't just set the bar high for music in general with this revolutionary album, but for herself as well. Her sophomore album "The Electric Lady" falls flat compared to The ArchAndroid. It'll be difficult for anyone to live up to a legacy like this... I hope she can manage a craft like The ArchAndorid again.

Easily the Best Album of the year 2010, This album is not only layered, but conceptually wrapped in an audio experience that will leave you with the capability of Seeing Sound. It's like a movie written by Walt Disney for your mind. Also this album touches on so many genres and blends so effortlessly that you HAVE to listen to it from beginning to end. This album will change you completely.
