I bought the this album LP back in the 60's. It is so great, the moment I saw it in the i tunes store I bought it. Bobby Darin was a very special singer and this is a very special album. It's great
  • Spoken Intro into Songs

Beware...I bought Mack the Knife after listening to the clip. When I listened to it there was an annoying spoken word intro to the song. I don't know if the rest of the songs are like this but for someone who just wanted to download some great Bobby Darin songs without commentary it was a bit disappointing. Check out the Rhino Hi-Five collection which is limited but does have the big hits without any live/commentary recordings.

This is one the best albums that Bobby Drain has released. He is a true singer. He is one of my favorites.

I downloaded only "Mack the Knife" and was very disappointed to discover that it comes with a verbal introduction AND a postscript! I could do without Bobby's talking - I just wanted to hear him sing! I'm deleting this and will continue my hunt for JUST the song. Sigh!

I have recently fallen in love with Bobby Darin! Sad thing is that I live in Las Vegas and didn't know he played most of these. This has become my most played iTunes at work.
  • One of the best albums of all time

There are about 8 songs on this record that could anchor any other album, but Bobby delivered the goods, showing his range and style and why he is one of America's greatest vocalists ever.

  • The Turning Point for Darin

This is easily one of Darin's best albums. Even though this was his first LP, he had numerous songs in the late 1950's that followed the Rock roots of the time. With That's All, Darin ditched the teeny bopper music for the sophisticated Jazz/Lounge genre. Nearly every song here is fabulous, namely Mack the Knife, Beyond the Sea, Some of These Days (which is even better on the Live at the Copa album), and That's All (which is much more lively than Sinatra could have every done). This is Darin at his best, and set the stage for his Vegas runs in the early 1960's.
