During my thirty plus year career in radio, I got to hear a lot of great music before the general public did. As a second generation musician, my career gave me the opportunity to meet some of the greats. Chaka was one of them. Out of all of her work, THIS has to be my favorite. "Night In Tunisia" my favorite track.

this is the best album ever made. most won't recognize the the syncopatic beats that are made famous on this album not to mention the world famous artists put together by Arif Mardin (oh my God - this dude is awesome!!!). trust me, hear and believe!!! check out the beats and arrangement on "head the warning" ( a little known, rarely mentioned, obscure song on this fantastic album) then comment on the unbelievable rhythmic beats here!

Not only is this my favorite Chaka Khan album, it's my favorite album period. I can listen to the whole thing on repeat! It's about time it's available digitally! "Heed The Warning," "Father He Said," and "What Cha' Gonna Do For Me" are my faves.

This is a great album! I'm so glad it's finally here. There isn't a bad track on it. Her vocals are incredible as ususal, and the arrangements are killer. She is one of the best back-up singers for herself. When I hear "I Know You,...", I have the most uplifting and spirited memories of the club The Paradise Garage in NYC , in the 80's, at 7 am, with a packed room of a thousand-plus people just workin' it out to the lyric "like I feel the sun in the morning". By the time the last chorus came around, oh man, it was pure pandemonium in that room! Her cover of "We Can Work It Out" is great, "What Cha' Gonna..." has such a memorable hook, "Any Old Sunday" is a forgotten gem, "And The Melody" shows what a fierce musician she really is. This is prime time Chaka. Grade A stuff!
  • THEY FINALLY GOT THIS ALBUM ON ITUNES!
