This is a great CD. Madeleine Kahn singing I'm Not Getting Married Today and Patti Lupone singing Being Alive leave the recent Broadway cast in the dust--even thought I thought it was a wonmderful production of the show. I'm sure a man will sing Defying Gravity at some point--and who cares?

This is a fine highlights CD, but you might as well invest in the entire thing, as it's phenomenal. And c.... -- get off your high horse! Ms. Lupone, while not my favorite singer in the world, sings "Being Alive" brilliantly, the emotions and text are equally valid for a woman to sing, and I'm sure that if a guy could physically sing "Defying Gravity" you would see it done. After all, "Loving You" from PASSION is originally written for Fosca (sung by the great Donna Murphy), but on iTunes you would think it's a man's song, since the only recordings available here are done by guys. REALLY!!!!

It's a great cd, and I love Pattie but Being Alive is a male solo. You don't see males singing Defying Gravity.
