I was looking for meditation apps when reading a review from a hypnotherapist who said Kelly Howell's are much better and to go to iTunes and look her up. So I did. Back in the 90's before Apple had all this technology I found her through a catalogue and had ordered several of her CD's I think I may even had cassettes tapes from that time frame too. This was when I was coping with newly diagnosed fibro and CFS and the was one tape or CD that was especially helpful one on healing. I do not recall the title but she has you go into this healing room to various place like a pool, the center of the room was a healing light. It has been so long since I listened to it but the one I down loaded last night I fell asleep but do remember the technology plus Kelly has advance so much in making her meditation app/CD's that it was so much better. iTunes on my iPod recycles and places all night forgot that until I work up listening to the second half of the meditation. Oh someone complained that she used God in her meditation I am so glad she did. The are so many out there that use higher self or universe or something else other than God so being a Christian it was a nice change. I didn't put in a complaint on those because they are very well done hypnosis meditations that I use. So it was nice to find one that uses God. Very well done. I will have to listen to it again tonight and maybe I can get past the first 5 minutes.

I'm with some others here. I read the reviews first but I didn't grasp how many times God came up in this album until I listened to it myself. I found the frequent references very intrusive. I could have gone with nonspecific, unnamed references, but trying to ignore them just yanked me out of the whole purpose of the exercise and my eyes flew open every time. I don't care what others want to believe, it's none of my business. But on the other hand, I choose freedom *from* others' belief systems.

I listen to this repeatedly through the night or for a nap in the daytime. Love it. IMO works for me so much better than her second album (which actually keeps me awake) because it's in the first person, and I can immediately identify with the affirmations. I translate G-D into universe automatically and have noticed amazing changes after listening to it for an entire summer.

I started listening to this nightly on July 16th of this year. At that point in my life I was in a very deep depression, I had no job and I live in a very small town (population 16,000). When my husband introduced this album to me I was a little skeptical, but I wanted to give it an honest chance. So, I marked 6 weeks to the day on my iPod and listened every night for the 6 weeks. By the end of the 6 weeks I no longer had any symptoms of depression, and I got a job that was part time. I was really impressed at this point so I decided to keep listening. To date, my job has now gone to full time, I got a large raise and a promotion (I have only worked there since August of this year), and I have gotten several refund checks in the mail for mistakes made to my account. To some people there may be technicalities with the wording, but honestly I don't think the universe is that picky. It's not just a mind thing, it's a soul thing. Kelly talks about connecting with the universe and your true self to draw things/events to you. I think a lot of people take the law of attraction a little to literal. There are no definite "rules". What you send out is what comes back. If you send out good, then good will come back. All I did was listen, I didn't "do" anything.

This was recommended to me as a possible help for long-standing insomnia. The first night, after the instruction to listen every night for 6 weeks. Yeah, right, I thought. I fell asleep right away, as well as the next night, and the next... for 6 weeks. I had beautiful dreams, I awoke feelng happier every morning. I then gave it to someone who needed it, missed it and bought another. I just lost that one, and so am buying yet a third. I have the second meditation CD but don't get the same feeling. This is one of my favorite CD's in the world and I recommend it highly.
  • Truly Relaxing!

I have the Universal Mind 2. I do like that one better however they are similar. I love how relaxing it is and as I have said in another comment, that the positve affirmations are so good. It makes me feel better emotionally and mentally as well as physical. Mind, Body, Spirit! You really have to have an open mind and just relax and go with it. In my opinion while meditating alot of times let that critic and sceptic go. That unfortunately is our problem in the first place. Always doubting things and being critical of stuff. Some of the guided meditations take us on a journey to fantasize and relax. Anyway I really like this one as well! The bottom line is relax and enjoy!

I believe Kelly Howell's Universal Mind came out prior to The Secret but those words were added to the title afterwards for obvious marketing purposes. This is a subliminal meditation meant to be a tool to help you align your energy positively so that you can be one with the Universe (or aligned with God, or however you choose to label it). Since the "not" statements people are so worried about have nothing specific to do with you and do not affect you on a strong emotional level, they have no negative affect with your pursuit of the law of attraction. It's not a crime to use the word. It should simply be avoided when you are focusing on something you dont want, that you feel strongly about. Getting in the grove with your energy is very hard for lots of people. You should use whatever means necessary to get there. Kelly Howell's work effects brain waves using sound waves and reaches into parts of your brain that never get exercised. Your head physically feels different when you are done listening. The Universal Mind hits the delta brain waves, I believe, which acts like Niquil. You should only listen to it when you are ready for bed. I can never stay up thru more than the first 5 minutes. I am totally knocked out, but totally in the groove and making my dreams a reality.

I am new to meditation. Tried it in the past with short lived experiences. There is something very special about Kelly Howell. Captivating. Actually, life changing.
