I listened to the play list and always fell asleep on the second song and love the music.
  • Typical Christian Drivel

I'm sorry, but I find this music typically bad as Christian music. Crown Him With Many Crowns was written as a song sung by multitudes of people watching Jesus be crowned but Ortega reduces it to typical Christian noise in an intimate setting, i.e. "Just me and Jesus." He portrays no sense of what the music means. I'm sorry I bought this.

I love Fernando! But I honestly believe God loves a whole lot because he brings me back to identify with my maker. Jesus' love for me, the pain endured for me, the grace bestowed on me, the future He has for me. Jesus put a gift in Fernando because He knew he could be trusted to good with it. When we get to Heaven & God calls his name, I'll scream hallelujah! Sweet sweet voice of peace and soul!

I received this CD as a gift. I am from NM, and had heard of FO, but didn't know his music. It stayed in it's wrapper for months. Then, on one of those "dark nights of the soul", I picked it up to listen. What beauty I had been missing. It's great for playing softly in the background, or loudly so that I can sing along. This is a CD that just stays in or next to my player.

I love this album. It is a very inspirational album. I remember hearing about Fernando Ortega on the local radio station when he came out with this album. I heard a couple of his songs and felt moved by it. The way he described the purpose for these songs was so much more sensible. A lot of artist take it more as a job and less as a recognition of humble praise with their characters taken out of in accordance with Christ. It's hard to find simple music like this around. I love the way he takes even the most well known hymns and puts a new melody to them. Very humbling experience when you listen to the music. The only thing I dislike about the album is the fact that the songs are shorter than expected. A few of them could have had their choruses repeated because they are so well done. Of coruse, I do have the option of rewinding them on my ipod and in itunes so I guess I'll get over that. Looking forward to more albums like this.

I purchased this cd several months ago and I still listen to it almost every night before I go to bed or when I am just wanting to reflect on God's great love. It never gets old. Fernando has a way of ushering in a spirit of peace through his music. He is truly gifted and I would recommend this cd to anyone.

There is so much to love in this CD! Some new songs, some old faithful hymns sung masterfully. So thought-filled and contemplative, awestruck at times at our awesome King of Kings. As a young guy with a bit of musical talent, this music is indeed a great example of music masterfully matching words where I hope others follow...I love to support this!

Fernando Ortega stands out from the usual christian pop culture that seems bent on mimicking the successes of their secular contemporaries. His first albums were instrumentals, showcasing his dexterity on ivory keys and his love for melody. If you remove the vocals in this album, you would be left with Ortega's melodic poetry that sings from a maturing faith in the centrality of Jesus Christ that leaves cliche choruses and catchy tunes at the bus stop.
