Too bad there are only seven songs! I love their songs and it didn’t take me too long to get used to their songs and love them. They are amazing!

My 4th attempt to review! Each time I am cut off with no warning before I can finish. If you have a time or space limit you should say so. I despise the videos: too tiny, not related to the lyrics, distracting, and reduces the number of songs on the album! Their addition is a stupid idea and not even well done!

Love Desert Road reminds me of something off the altar in the door album but I’m not understanding why they did the videos on this album and not more songs still the best band out there to me but maybe mark hall can do more songs like the alter and door album to me that was the best record
  • It’s fine, but kinda disappointing

I’ve been a Casting Crowns fan for as long as I can remember, heck, my favorite song at 5 years old was “Who Am I”, and I’ve been keeping up with them pretty much my whole life. I’ve loved just about every album they’ve put out, and always look forward to new work from them. I say just about because, well, this might be the first one I don’t really love. Don’t get me wrong, the messages are still there and the songs are perfectly fine, but with the exception of “Scars in Heaven”, none of these feel really inspired. Not to mention it feels really bizarre to dedicate almost a third of the album to alternate versions and music videos of already existing songs. While songs like “Healer” and “Power of the Cross” are perfectly fine songs and sound great, nothing about them stands out. They’re good music with solid messages, but that’s about it. There’s nothing particularly moving in either these songs, or almost any other here. Again, that’s not to say I dislike them, quite the contrary. I enjoy these songs, they just don’t have what makes music and worship special. The true saving grace of the album really is “Scars in Heaven”, which in my opinion is one of their best songs to date. When it first came out as a single, I had suffered a personal loss in my life only a few days prior, and this song moved me to genuine tears. If every song was on the caliber of this one, this would be a top 3 album for sure. As is, the album is just kind of okay. Certainly not bad, but also definitely not of the quality I, and many others know Casting Crowns is capable of.

It’s ok; a little short. I almost expect a deluxe version with 5-6 more songs.

Strange how my one star review is no longer available. Christian hypocrisy wins again. This band is in the wrong musical genre. Not Christian.
  • A confusing letdown.

As a fan from their first album, albums like “Thrive” were so powerful, having only one or two skips, and never appearing as corny or redundant. Their Christmas album is one of the best I’ve ever heard, and is so comforting. Outside of Scars In Heaven, and the beautiful artwork and album design, the other tracks sound rushed and like rejects, no cohesiveness as displayed in other albums, and quite frankly, not a fan of the music videos taking up a good chunk of the album. A confusing letdown that’ll hopefully skyrocket their next album.

Good songs! That’s it! Nothing else! I love them so much! And Jesus still love you too! Pray for them or leave them alone! That’s it! I love you!

Sadly, at this rate and with this selection I'll skip this. Not a fan of the available songs or short records with videos. And I'm a long time fan...Seen you in concert.

Casting Crowns did it again! I found my way back to God with “Just Be Held” and “Scars in Heaven” gave me the peace I never realized I was missing. I’m so grateful for their beautiful songs and ministry!
