Not surprised knowing their talent, but completely blown away by the artistry. Wanna cry when I hear Dignity - on a completely different ethereal level. Pure Genius on both intellectual and emotional levels.

Had the pleasure of seeing the band in Washington, D.C. at the Anthem. Absolutely stunning performance by the best musicians at the peak of their performance skills. As a professional drummer, I found myself not being able to watch and pay attention to Gavin as much as I would have liked to, because the rest of the band was just so compelling! I have been to the top of the mountain! No need to see anything or anyone else. I pray for continuation!

12 years have passed and porcupine tree has aged like wine. From the melodic guitar on “Chimera’s wreck” to the opening bass riff of “Harridan”, each song is unquestionably well composed and the entire album stands as a fantastic musical experience.

Porcupine tree have completely dropped the metal aesthetic of the previous four albums and the new one is much more subtle and nuanced but just as exciting and adventurous. There’s a few lengthy tracks which are welcome and even the more low key ballad type tracks have moments of crescendo that really hit the spot. Also there’s much less studio effects and more straight forward musicianship and man is there a lot of wisdom behind these artists! Definitely hoping for continuation!

Long awaited and much needed. It does not disappoint. Not a weak track on the album. Sounds familiar yet is fresh and different.

This was a day i never thought would come to pass. I approached this one with a fair amount of skepticism. I was nerous about the missing players, Colin Edwyn and John Wesley.... Thankfully, Steven Wilson pulls this off in grand fashion. It appears that he is quite the accomplished Bass player (Im not sure why I doubted that), and his guitar playing is good enough that i dont really miss Wesley and all. This is a fantastic album.... dark, moody, brooding, lush, beautiful..... its a fantastic come back album, if they truly are back. If this is a one and done, its a great last chapter. Enjoy

I’m very late to the Porcupine Tree to discover Steven Wilson and all he does but I am glad I did. Waiting for this one was well worth the wait and appreciated the download code as we wait for the box sets to come in. Well done PC!
  • Very nice. Sublime production, as always.
