I love Joshua Redman and his music and sound. I fondly recall Moodswing and this is a return to that group and sound. It sounds so good in my ears... all four of these musicians are first class...I have since dug into Mehlman’s catalogue and whoa- greats sound all around... buy this CD and you won’t be disappointed... smooth and strong jazz for all

Outstanding album. This album might be perfect. Each composition is memorable and distinct! I can’t believe the members waited this long to record again but I’m thankful they did!
  • Killer album

You brought me to goosebumps several times on this album. Of course everyone here sounds as incredible as ever, they are in my opinion some of the greatest musicians on the planet (they all prove that here as well). The saxophone here is beyond playing what you know or what you were taught. All that of course matters, but it came from somewhere else and we are all blessed because of it. This is why I play music too and I can't wait to get back to it.

This is one of the best quartets that you've probably never heard. I first witnessed these guys at the New Orleans Jazz Fest in 1994. All youthfully recorded leaders, in separate CD's in my Jazz collection at the time. Led by Mr. Redmon, I saw the swinging cymbal master that is Brian Blade (a drummer after my own higher aspirations...), THE bottom hammer -Christian McBride, and the imaginative & inquisitive phraseology of Brad Meldau. All held together brillianltly by the mathmatical precision of Joshua Redmon's uniquely stoic and somewhat advanced (for his age) tone, voicing and composition. I can hardly wait to hear what time, technique & leadership has conjured after 26 years !!!
  • Thank you!
