I think it’s better than Shrines...and that was pretty forceful. But for some reason, it’s not the music I want my hockey teammates to know I love. Haha!
  • Not as listenable

I was a big fan of Shrines and absolutely loved Another Eternity. That said, I don’t know what happened here with Womb. There’s a couple tracks worth listening to but even after my first play-through, I haven’t listened to this album since. Most of the songs sound just like the last one and those catchy tunes along the lines of “Bellyspeak” and “Begin Again” are absent. I’d love to see Purity Ring work more with hip-hop artists like their past work with musicians such as Danny Brown but this album just doesn’t feel as special as past Purity Ring releases. Almost like that fun, whimsical spirit that defines PR is all but absent this time around.
  • Lyrics have missed the mark again.

It’s like one artist wrote shrines and then a completely different person took over the last album and now this one. They had something but now they just sound similar to other bands. Her vocals are amazing and unique but not enough to jump that hurdle and make me keep listening.
  • Most consistent album yet

Their first two albums tended to veer toward a few excellent songs and then a number that were simply ok but forgettable. This album is more consistently good and shows an overall improvement in musicianship and skill. They're getting better.

The instramentals version are so much better. Let the music speak.

I have loved Purity Ring since the very beginning and I’m so happy they are back, finally! Nothing transports me to other places like their music. Stunning vocals and melodies, haunting electronics and sweeping bass. Amazing forever!

Another great album from Purity Ring! Definitely different from their first album but stays true to their sound. 👌
