Reviews

  • Worst of Channel Awesome

This album claims to be a love letter to The Wall, but it feels more like a death threat. The songs all throw shade at the film and the album, and the “analysis” is very surface level straw man arguments AGAINST the source material. Also, the sound mixing is weird. The first time I heard this, the instrumentals were so loud that I couldn’t hear the vocals. The vocals, on their own, are hit and miss, the worst being Doug Walker trying to sing in a silly voice. The instrumentals, though a bit warped, are the only good thing about this. Hope they paid Rob Scallon overtime. The additional tracks are nothing special, and they just keep slamming the movie and the album. Don’t listen, and don’t buy. In real life, Channel Awesome is a terrible company, and they don’t deserve your money.
  • The Epitome of Doug Walker’s ego

Utterly awful why is this still up despite how terrible it is Doug Walker is a stuck up condescending arrogant egotistical jerk who COMPLETELY missed to point of the album and film which even I can tell despite not being a fan of the film or the album. It appeals to no one but his own ego for obvious reasons. It is sad to see what he has become as I was a former fan of his but after angering me one too many times such as being a jerk on not liking Pokémon by making cruel jabs at it and making harsh take thats toward Blue Sky Studios for no real good reason I gave up on him and I do not regret it whatsoever. It is time to end the series like it should have in 2012 because of how awful he is now, he is just another brick in the wall

As someone who listens to music as more than a hobby and is involved in writing and analyzing movies and music, I can absolutely say that this Doug Walker guy not only missed the entire point of The Wall, he also completely disrespects the musical creativity that the project had for not only the time of its release but the creativity it still lives with in today’s culture. The vocals on this is awful, the instrumental is amazing of course, but Mr. Walker didn’t do anything with that. And of course, the biggest criticism is the fact that The Wall was a different time, it wasn’t whining about school, it was much deeper than that in the prospect of mental illness and the loneliness of stardom, among several other concepts that I guess Mr. Walker is too simple to understand...
  • Can I give zero stars?

Just like the Nostalgia Critics “review” of The Wall, This so-called “love letter” to Pink Floyd is awful. The songs are poorly made, poorly sung, not funny, and just insulting. The addition of Corey Taylor doing a Spongebob Squarepants cover also is just ridiculous. Avoid buying any songs off of this album. They’re not worth it.
