The Mavericks did it again, and surely “Did Hank REALLY do it this way?”.. no pun intended.. it’s a magnificent album, with Malo’s voice melting hearts in ballads, as well as the rhythms and fun taping tunes that the MAVS put together for all audiences!!! MAGNIFICENT ALBUM!!

This is a great album. Performed impeccably with an amazing selection of songs. The band and that singer are all over it. Good is good but this is great. Thank you Mavericks. You just won over another minion.

An album of other peoples tunes. Ok. To play tunes that listeners have heard 100's of times before takes balls. I am a Waylon fan from way back. I have heard and played "Did Hank Do It This Way" so many times I wondered how can the guys pull of a version of this tune. Let me tell you they made Waylon proud. It is The Mavericks signature sound and it sounds so good. Just like 'Hungry Heart" This is one of my favorite Bruce's tunes. Once again the Mavs pull off a home run. Than there is the Mav's country. It is here and sound sounds like the bans from the early 90's. Than there is the knock out. Freddy's "Before The Next Tear Drop Falls". The tune is tailor made for Raul's stunning voice. I saw them in concert playing some of these tunes. what a treat. Listen to this album. It will make you feel so good.

I'm always amazed by interpretations of original songs when covered by the Mavericks. Over the years there have been songs on albums here and there that always do not only justice to the original, but pull off varied interpretations of the original by either "Latining it up" as I call it, or changing the tempo, vocal range and instrumentation. All have been most excellent. Based on the sample songs, I can't wait to download the entire album. I'm particularly awaiting "Hungry Heart". The Mavericks could do a whole album of Springteen covers. But in the meantime, I'll take what I can get. Gladly.
Hell yeah!

We all know and love these songs from the original artists, but I was more than pleasantly surprised by the Mavericks' interpretations of them. Their take on "Swingin" is part John Anderson (the original tune) and part Sam The Sham & The Pharoahs (think "Wooly Bully"), but it's most definitely swingin' and a heckuva lot of fun!!
LOVE the Mavericks ❤️
