been a fan since the first ep.... the self titled album is still in my top 10 .... for me, each release has gotten more and more away from that sound that i loved (more live, less programed i guess)... my take on this EP is that it sounds more in the direction of the origianl sound that the newer stuff... i'm digging it and would engourage paul to keep going in THAT direction...

Been a fan for a long time. While I did love the DK days, I feel that Meany is evolving this band in the right direction. It feels like Meany pushed the band into the direction more akin to Vitals and they may have wanted to stay in the Odd Soul era. I thought Vitals was an amazing album and this ep sounds like a mix of Vitals and Armistice. That being said, this really goes to show that Meany is the true talent of the band and really doesn’t need anyone to put out stellar music that has quality playing on all instruments. The thing that really strikes me is that rather than do simple loops, he makes everything sound organic and nothing is repeated. I could totally see DK playing the drums to these songs, which is why I believe that Meany has always been the power behind the band now that he’s gone and Meany is doing this all by himself. Kinda like once everyone left smashing pumpkins and yet billy corgan really showed that he was the genius behind the guitar sound and music.

Been with Paul since Earthsuit and have enjoyed every minute of the artistic ride! Thank you Paul for sharing your God given creativity with us. I love love the whole vibe of this album. Give us more!! En2018 slays me - I can’t stop playing it. My only criticism is that album doesn’t have more songs! Keep em coming Paul. We love you.

I think this 4 track album is brilliant. Major home run for PM... esp track 2 En2018. Wish it was an 11 minute song. Wanting more!

I’ve been following these guys for about 13 years. First two albums are LEGIT. After that, kind of hit and miss IMO. This new stuff, is good stuff. Too bad it’s only an EP and not a full length. Can’t wait to hear more!

This EP is far from horrible, but compared to “Play Dead” this is definitely a let down. The first two tracks are pretty enjoyable, though “EN 2018” is longer than it should have been. The third track on here is easily the worst song on this EP, as it features all-to-earnest and overly sentimental lyrics along with some dull, dry instrumentation. The final track isn’t terrible, but it’s quite unmemorable. Seeing that Paul Meany is currently the only remaining member of the band, I can’t say that I’m all that excited for a new album, whenever that might be released.

While I’m bummed Mutemath is not what it used to be, since all of the changes of last year, this EP is great! Paul will continue to steer the ship well I think. Some good tunes!

Paul Meany seems endlessly talented and original while at the same time reminding listeners he hasn’t forgotten his old works of art. Love this EP and can’t wait to see what he’ll do next
