Compared to their other albums, this is no good. I enjoyed some parts of a few songs here, but then lost hope for it completely. There is no rawness here. If anyone wants to hear true death cab, go listen to We Have the Facts and Were Voting Yes, Photo Album, Stability EP Forbidden Love EP, Translanticism, and maybe even check out their much earlier albums like Something about Airplanes or You can play these songs with chords.

sometimes you can grow with an artist...and that is....beautiful. This album to me is wonderfully new. them now. rich with nostalgia, but currently who they are. ben will always be an exceptional writer. no matter what anyone says. this is true. dont hold on to the past and you can appreciate what is now. thank you DC.

Uninspired and dull. Kind of boring. Can’t get excited for this one. Nothing rememberable. It doesn’t get me excited or move me emotionally. I don’t want to sing along to this one. This album is worse than Codes and Keys. I’ve been a fan of DCFC for 15 years. Hopefully their next album will be more like Narrow Stairs or Kintsugi.

many having "high hopes" "at their best when..." but what many are losing sight of is the emotion and the poetic writing they this band ALWAYS delivers. "When we drive" struck my soul and brought me back to the days of listening to their earlier albums with my friends cruising around town and having a good time. Love this album completely!!!!!

It took a while for the album to grow on me, but eventually it did. I don't think that it has some of the depth of the earlier albums and the emotions aren't as raw, which I think makes the emotions layered in the songs more mature. The feeling is more a matter of, "well this is how life is" and acceptance of the realities of life, rather more of the angst that we feel when we are younger trying to emotionally fight against the events going on in our personal lives / world. Some of the songs almost feel like a different view on older songs for example: (When We Drive / Passenger Seat), (Summer Years / Cath). At first I didn't find the songs to be genuine, but the more I listened, the more I got it. I'm in my early 40's so is Ben and I think I was looking for what was in DCFC from what I listened to for the past 15 years (sorry wasn't there day 1), it's there, it's just different, and it should be. Ben writes from his soul and in this case, he's older and more mature, perspectives on life change too.

This is their best effort since Plans. They always have great music, but this is a whole album worth buying the on vinyl and letting it play beginning to end!

This is only the 3rd time I've felt compelled to write a review. This album is AMAZING! Nascar Jr beat me to what I was going to say, the vocals do sound like Neil Tennant whom I love. I feel like it's an amazing Pet Shop Boys album with the guitar of Johnny Marr from New Order thrown in there. Just a wonderful album that I keep listening to over and over once I've reached the end. Definitely a fan now as this is my first DCFC album ever purchased. Keep up the great sound!!!!!
