What the other reviewers above are just now figuring out is what was painfully obvious from the very beginning: that Olafar Arnalds has shockingly little talent. He had only a few ideas to start, and he's now used them all up. This music is not "Classical Crossover" (whatever that is), and it's cetainly not "Classical" or even "Neo-Classical". This is what we in the business call "New Age" - just endless noodling, in this case on a poorly recorded piano.

Totally agree with the reviewer above. This is really disappointing compared to Arnalds's earlier work. Hope it's not permanent.
  • Sadly a disappointment

I get that this is an experimental album, and I would be ok with it if it sounded half decent. But there's no structure. Arnalds makes music with structure. That's neoclassical. This is not neoclassical. This is merely ambience. Olafur made music with structure, which set him apart from other artists like Nils Frahm. I don't know what this is. It's certainly not Eulogy for Evolution or And They Have Escaped the Weight of Darkness. Please start composing like you used to again.

Olafur’s music is a journey into our inner worlds where we can reconnect with our essential natures. I highly recommend you treat yourself to his music. He is an amazing creative artist.

Preordered this album the minute it showed up. One of my favorite composers — if not THE favorite. Beautiful music here. Don’t take it for granted.
